December is finally here! And it doesn’t matter if you’re a local or a tourist, Charleston is a unique place to spend this last month of the year. We’ve made a list of things you need to put on your calendar. Let us know what your favorite plan was!

1. Watch the North Charleston tree light up this Friday

This Friday, December 3, you’re invited to watch their Christmas tree light up from 6:00 to 7:00 pm. There will be live music by the North Charleston High School Chorus and Band.

2. Buy gifts at an independent bookstore

3. Visit the Holiday Festival of Lights 

James Island County Park features thousands of lights decorating trees and making holiday figures, perfect to take some pictures for your Insta. An amazing family holiday treat!

4. Drink and eat at this dessert bar

New to Charleston! The Honey Hive Dessert Bar is a great experience for women. This one-of-a-kind dessert spot has unique art and decorations by a female local artist and their menu celebrates famous women.

5. Have brunch at Maya Restaurant

6. Shop local at the Old Village Holiday Street Fest

This Saturday the Old Village District is hosting a Holiday Street Fest for a day full of locals shopping and entertainment. It will feature local vendors, live music, and shows as well as food trucks and family activities for all ages. Check out all the details.
