This is a family-friendly event, and there will be different activities for tourists and visitors of all ages. The annual Light the Lake will happen from 5:0pm to 7:00 on Friday, December 2.
You and your family will enjoy crafts and activities, including letters to veterans, jingle-bell jewelry making, holiday photos by the carriage, ornament making, leaf rubbing, and an activity table hosted by the South Carolina Aquarium.
Hungry? No problem. Food vendors include local eateries such as Independent Grounds Coffee, Blackout Burger, and more. The best thing is… the event is free and open to the public!
You can still volunteer for this event
There’s still one place available for filling and placing of luminaries from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Volunteers will work with Conservancy staff and other volunteers to fill luminary bags with sand and candles and place them around Colonial Lake for the annual event. Lunch will be provided for all volunteers.
