Artcelium Fest: Summer Edition is coming up in a couple of weeks, and it’s a fun, family-friendly event you won’t want to miss.
Organized by New Paradigm Productions, Artcelium is a community event created by three immigrant women living in Charleston who came together in November last year to start a business centered around community and art.
This July, they’ve partnered with The Woodlands Nature Reserve and Awendaw Green to host a creative day in nature.
Artcelium will feature live music, live art, workshops, open mic, local vendors, food trucks, nature trails, kayaks, paddle boarding, and overnight camping. It’s a family-friendly and pet-friendly event!
The word Artcelium is the combination of art and mycelium, the ever-growing fungi network connecting all plants underground.
“Every tree, flower, and blade of grass lived and exists because they are able to survive together by sharing nutrients and information with each other through mycelium. Our festival celebrates and emulates this fascinating network by connecting our community through arts and gatherings”, said Stephany Ferreira, one of the organizers.
They are currently looking for vendors and sponsors to help them create the magic on July 10, so if you’re interested, feel free to reach out to them.
