This September 24, small business barbecue sauce entrepreneurs will compete in the first edition of the “Getting Saucy” BBQ Sauce Competition.
Firefly Distillery announced the competition and its details, adding that competitors can be judges in five different categories, including mild red, hot red, mustard, vinegar, and specialty. Winners in each category will win a prize, and only one restaurant will be declared South Carolina BBQ Sauce Grand Champion.
The festival will also feature live entertainment by Lauren Hall, Ben Fagan, Lafaye Music, a DJ, a corn hole competition, face painting, and family-friendly activities.
The proceeds will benefit a non-profit organization called The Arc of the Lowcountry that works towards helping those with physical and intellectual disabilities.
