These four waterparks in Charleston will make sure you have splashy summer fun:
1. Whirlin’ Waters
Where: North Charleston Wannamaker County Park 📍 8888 University Blvd.
Hours: ⏰ 10:00am -6:00 pm
Open daily from June 19 – August 15
Open weekends only and Labor Day from August 21 – September 6
Whirlin’ Waters is a Charleston classic. The best option if you’re looking for fun for adults and teenagers. It offers more than 15 acres of exciting attractions, including The Big Kahuna, a wave pool of 27,000 square feet, and the Washout, an extreme raft experience.
2. Charleston Aqua Park
Where: Trophy Lakes 📍 2050 Marlin Rd, Johns Island
Hours: ⏰Wednesday – Friday 12:00 pm-6:00 pm
Saturday-Tuesday 12:00pm – 5:15 pm
The Charleston Aqua Park is a lake with unexpected and exciting floating features on the water. Teenagers and young adults will have a blast. The ideal plan for families looking to cool down and be active.
3. Splash Zone
Where: James Island County Park 📍 871 Riverland Drive
Hours:⏰ 10:00 am – 6:00pm
Weekends only starting May 15
Open daily starting June 5
Splash Zone is only open for a specific season every year so visit it while you can! The waterpark features a 200 ft tube slide and a 200 ft open slide. For the youngest members of the family, there’s a lazy river, a pool, and an amazing rainforest play structure.
4. Splash Island
Where: Mount Pleasant Palmetto Islands County Park 📍 444 Needlerush Parkway, Mount Pleasant
Hours:⏰ 10:00 am -6:00 pm
Open weekends starting May 15
Open daily from June 19 – August 15
Open weekends only and Labor Day from August 21 – September 6
This relaxing waterpark is hidden inside Mount Pleasant Palmetto Islands County Park. The attractions include an otter slide, raindrop waterfalls, an activity pool, and a 200-foot body flume, ideal for toddlers and small children to enjoy.
