One of Charleston’s favorite events is finally here. This Sunday, head over to Mount Pleasant to celebrate the local shrimping and seafood industry at the Blessing of the Fleet & Seafood Festival.
The event will occur at Memorial Waterfront and feature a boat parade, live music, a craft show, and lots of free activities! Admission has no cost, and all the family is welcome.
Restaurants and food vendors
Visitors will be able to enjoy food from some of Mount Pleasant’s most delicious and famous restaurants, including:
- Gilligan’s
- Graze
- Mazyck’s Grill
- Not Just Franks Cafe
- Shem Creek Crabhouse
- Zeus Grill & Seafood
And other vendors offer kettle Korn, funnel cakes, shaved ice, ice cream, fresh pork skin, etc.

11:00 am – Soul Fish
12:30 pm – National Anthem, Mayor’s Welcome
12:40 pm – Blessing Procession on Pier
1:00 pm – Boat Parade & Blessing of the Fleet
2:00 pm – East Coast Party Band
3:30 pm – Shrimp Eating Contest presented by Gilligan’s Seafood Restaurant
4:00 pm – Bowers Beach Boogie Dance Competition presented by Harris Teeter
Parking
Free parking will be limited at Memorial Waterfront Park, and shuttle buses will run continuously from 11:00 am to 5:15 pm. Riders are welcome to bring chairs and festival gear on buses.
